Preview of the Weekend: Spurs host Arsenal in North London Derby; Man City face Leicester

Tottenham vs Arsenal

Lucas Moura is available for Tottenham after he was forced to miss the FA Cup win over Newport.

All in all, Spurs head coach Mauricio Pochettino has no injury concerns.

Toby Alderweireld played the full 90 minutes against Newport, with his availability a boost for Pochettino.

Petr Cech and Nacho Monreal were forced off in the 5-1 win over Everton, but the former is yet to train after suffering a calf injury and is a doubt.

Danny Welbeck is also an option for Arsene Wenger, though the Gunners boss will hope to name the same XI that started the trouncing of the Toffees.

Santi Cazorla is Wenger’s only other injury concern here.

Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal

Man City vs Leicester

John Stones has returned to training after missing Manchester City’s last two matches through illness and injury, respectively.

David Silva is a doubt for the home side, but Phil Foden is also back in training after nearly two months out injured.

Few changes are expected to the side that drew 1-1 with Burnley last weekend, although Pep Guardiola can now play a back three following the arrival of Aymeric Laporte last month.

Riyad Mahrez is not expected to play against Manchester City after failing to force through a move to Pep Guardiola’s side on deadline day. January signing Fousseni Diabaté could keep his place in the team as a result.

Shinji Okazaki is expected to return to the starting XI at the Etihad, forcing Kelechi Iheanacho back to the bench against his former club.

Wes Morgan and Robert Huth are not likely to feature on Saturday, but Ben Chilwell will push for a start at left-back after dropping to the bench last time out.

Man City 2-1 Leicester

New Castle vs Man United

Jose Mourinho sensationally dropped Paul Pogba for last Saturday’s 2-0 win over Huddersfield but is expected to recall the Frenchman here.

However, it’s unclear whether the likes of Ashley Young or Phil Jones will return to the starting XI.

Marcus Rashford is an early doubt for Sunday’s game after reportedly suffering a muscle injury against Huddersfield.
Marouane Fellaini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Eric Bailly are long-term absentees for the away side, while Daley Blind is also expected to miss out.

Newcastle 0-2 Man United

Southampton vs Liverpool

Adam Lallana stepped up his return to fitness with the U23s in the week and while he was sent off in that game, he won’t face a ban here.

Nathaniel Clyne is still sidelined, while Ragnar Klavan and Joe Gomez are doubts and will be assessed.

Trent Alexander-Arnold could continue at right-back, while Georginio Wijnaldum may feature in midfield at James Milner’s expense.

Southampton 2-3 Liverpool

Barcelona vs Getafe

Samuel Umtiti is suspended for the home side, with Yerry Mina set to partner Gerard Pique at centre-back.

Pique should be fit to play once again after battling through a knee problem picked up last weekend at Espanyol.

Philippe Coutinho is expected to get a start in midfield after coming off the bench to score in the Copa del Rey.

Barcelona 2-0 Getafe

Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad

Zinedine Zidane will undoubtedly have his eye on a midweek Champions League clash against PSG, but Real Madrid need to pick up some form first.

Sergio Ramos and Raphael Varane will likely be preferred to Nacho at centre-back once again.

Zidane may retain his usual XI to try and pick up a positive result, but the likes of Isco, Mateo Kovacic, Marcos Llorente, Lucas Vazquez and Theo Hernandez could rotate in.

Real Madrid 2-1 Real Sociedad

Bayern Munich vs Schalke 04

Jérôme Boateng is struggling with illness, meaning Niklas Süle could partner Mats Hummels at centre-back again.

Javi Martínez and Thiago are back in team training and the former could make his comeback in defensive midfield here.

Arturo Vidal could get a chance in central midfield, if Thomas Müller does not recover from a knock in time

Bayern Munich 3-1 Schalke 04

Toulous vs PSG

With one eye on next week’s match against Real Madrid, Neymar was rested in midweek, but should return here.

Ángel Di María was brilliant again in midweek, and that could see Kylian Mbappé dropped to the bench.

Adrien Rabiot missed the win over Sochaux with injury and remains a doubt here.

Giovani Lo Celso should come back into midfield after being suspended for the Coupe de France.

Thiago Motta came off the bench in midweek in a return from injury, but is unlikely to start here.

Toulous 1-2 PSG
